Hi, I'm Clara!
I am a data scientist from the San Francisco Bay Area and current graduate student at UC Berkeley.
Beyond numbers and analytics, I have a love for art, food, and the outdoors.
While studying environmental science at UCLA, I became fascinated with the intersection of technology, sustainability, and society when conducting ethnographic research on environmental and sustainability opinions in Los Angeles.
I then worked with IBM and The Nature Conservancy as a data analyst, developing tools to communicate climate and water use recommendations to rural, agricultural communities. There, I realized the need for transforming raw data into digestible information.
I learned that I loved storytelling and using design elements and symbols in visualizations to enhance the meaning of data.
Now, in the MIMS program at Cal, I am focusing on data science and visualization to delve deeper into human-centered analytics and transform numbers into meaningful, actionable insights.

My Teaching Philosophy
We all come with different expertise and experiences. Learn from one another and spark curiosity.
We may not know everything individually, but together, we know a lot.
Keep an open mind, be aware of the space you take, and make space for your peers and yourself.
